Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov Hospital)
The Sourasky Medical Center, also known as Ichilov Hospital, is one of the largest hospitals in Israel and comprises over sixty departments in five main centers on one campus. Many medical specialities are represented within the Medical Center, including cutting-edge treatments for cancer and groundbreaking technology for minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Ichilov hospital has facilities for general medicine, including state-of-the-art radiation therapies amongst other cancer treatments.
There is also a large rehabilitation hospital on the campus with over 120 beds, and facilities for post-surgical treatments as well as pain management and many other options.
Sheba Medical Center
Sheba Medical Center, also known as Tel HaShomer, is Israel’s largest hospital. It comprises several different hospitals all within a single complex, including facilities for treating cancer, heart disease, a children’s hospital, a women’s hospital and extensive rehabilitation facilities. There is also a hotel within the hospital complex, for families wishing to stay near those being treated in the hospital.
Sheba Medical Center has over 6,000 healthcare professionals treating one million patients every year. They invest heavily in research and development in order to remain at the forefront of technological advancement in medicine.
Hadassah Medical Center
Hadassah Medical Center is a leading university hospital in Jerusalem, affiliated with Hebrew University. The Center has over 1000 beds in 130 departments across 2 campuses. Almost any medical speciality can be found within the Hadassah Medical Center, and the philosophy is to offer care to everyone, regardless of colour, race or religion.
As a teaching hospital, Hadassah Medical Center is active in the creation of the next generation of healthcare professionals, as well as the next generation of treatments through the research programmes that are carried out.
There are two hospital campuses:
- Hadassah Ein Kerem
Situated on the outskirts of Jerusalem, Hadassah Ein Kerem comprises over 20 buildings and offers treatments in almost every medical speciality, including cancer treatments, cardiology, pediatric care and rehabilitation facilities. There is a dental clinic providing extensive care, from maxilofacial treatments to implants. With over 20 operating theaters, Hadassah Ein Kerem is able to provide a comprehensive range of surgical procedures, including bariatric surgery.
There is a purpose-built Mother-and-Child unit, which includes maternity facilities and specialist children’s hospital, including many options for pediatric treatments. These include neurological development clinics, cancer treatments, orthopedic departments and more. - Hadassah Mount Scopus
The smaller Hadassah Campus, located in the Northern part of Jerusalem, has 300 beds and offers a range of surgical procedures and clinics to compliment those available in the Ein Kerem campus.
Herzliya Medical Center
Herzliya Medical Center is a private hospital located on the coast of Israel. It is a full-sized hospital including facilities for all the major branches of medicine and surgery, with over 350 specialist doctors amongst a staff of 500.
As a private hospital, comfort goes hand-in-hand with medical care. Patient care is considered on an individual basis and a full treatment plan will be agreed on with the patient.
Loewenstein Hospital
Lowenstein hospital is a rehabilitation center, the largest in Israel, offering extensive facilities for post-surgical, post-injury and genetic conditions. This includes a comprehensive list of injuries and conditions, for example spinal injuries, stroke, amputation or broken limb, to name just a few.
The ethos of the Lowenstein hospital is to improve quality of life for its patients. Therapies are designed to treat the patient as a whole, not just the injury itself, and the staff work with compassion and care, ensuring patients are as comfortable as possible. This approach helps to transition patients back into life, which can be very challenging after a traumatic injury.
Raphael Hospital
Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh)
Located in Rishon LeTzion, just south of Tel Aviv, Shamir Medical Center is one of the largest hospitals in Israel with expansion plans approved to massively increase its capacity over the coming years. It is a teaching hospital, with links to the Tel Aviv Sachler school of medicine, and also boasts the largest nursing school in Israel.
Shamir Medical Center serves all sectors of the population, whether Jewish, Muslim or Christian, from all economic backgrounds. This is the basis for their ethos and approach to patients.
The Shamir Medical Center offers surgery using the daVinci Advanced robotic surgical system.This advanced robotic surgical system is the world standard for minimally invasive surgical procedures and is used for prostate surgery, thoracic surgery, hysterectomy and oncological hysterectomy, myomectomy, partial nephrectomy and thyroidectomy amongst others.
The Medical Center also has a pediatric hospital treating a wide variety of conditions but particularly specialising in neurological issues such as cerebral palsy. The pediatric rehabilitation center offers multi-disciplinary facilities to maximise the outcome for these young patients.
Assuta Hospitals
Assuta is a group of private hospitals which are spread throughout Israel. They have built a reputation for top medical facilities over many years, including the largest surgical center in the country, offering surgical procedures in every medical field.
There are currently four Assuta hospitals:
- Assuta Ashdod
- Assuta Ramat Hachayal in Tel Aviv
- Assuta Rishon Letzion
- Assuta Haifa
Each of these medical centers has their own particular areas of speciality and the corresponding medical staff.

Rabin Medical Center (RMC), comprised of both Beilinson and Hasharon Hospitals, is one of the most prominent and largest medical facilities in Israel.

prestigious organization for evaluation of health care organizations.

Rambam Hospital
First established in 1938 is the referral hospital for the north of Israel, It is the largest medical center in northern Israel and fifth largest in Israel .
Rambam Hospital serves as a referral medical center and Level I trauma
center, [3] [4] employing a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment. Some 80,000 people are hospitalized there every year, and another 600,000 are
treated in its outpatient clinics and medical institutes.
Rambam offers the full range of clinical facilities, including The Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation Institute, Oncology Center and hemato-oncology, cardiac surgery, Children’s Hospital orthopedics, and Neurosurgery. and the Division of Surgery which has several multi-disciplinary world renowned surgical teams in the fields of cardiology, otorhinolaryngology, and robotic
surgery..
